Bonding Time with bestfriend Gena

I got a text message early at 7am from my bestfriend Gena, saying if we can possibly meet since she'll be in Manila area. It's a been a long time that we haven't talk personally but we tried to be in touch through email or cellphone lang. Kahit na antok na antok pa bangon na since i miss her so much.Excited to see her and as ussual bonding time na naman...hahaha...

At exactly 10:15am, we've met to our meeting place. As expected tourist guide na naman me since she never been in Manila. First destination, Robinson Manila. It's lunch time na rin that's why derecho na kami Food Court. Sinigang na Baboy, Bangus, Pork Barbeque, Pinakbet ang lunch namin. of course we share para masaya.Gena is like a sister to me. Magkamukha na nga kami eh....hahaha...

After that nadaanan namin mga shades, ayun try to fit some style then finally we bought same style for us but different color. Sa akin black and sa kanya naman brown. Hay naku, nakakatuwa...She also bought a gift for his hubby Eric. Actually napakasweet nila..compatible talaga!

Then go to 2nd destination which is the Baywalk, Roxas Boulevard. Imagine tanghaling tapat trip naming maglalakad...sa init ng araw...hahaha....well enjoy naman kasi i know sanay din siya sa lakaran...C gena pa? di rin maangal..that's why nagkakasundo kami.... madaming tao since may event for sportfest. ayun, umupo kami sa ilalim ng puno....kwentuhan about life.. family, personal life and mga plans for future... with matching taking pictures sa cellphone niya..hahaha....ang cute naming dalawa....kahit sobrang init...okey lang...

I'm happy for her since tumaba na siya compared college days na super slim. I remember that time na nakipagpustahan ako sa kanya para tumaba lang...pero talo talaga me...pero now nag-improved talaga...i know she's happy and have peace of mind as i can see her face....blooming talaga...

Then dumaan kami sa Malate Church just to pray for a while. As i pray, sana magkaroon na siya ng baby kasi i know yun na lang ang kulang....and for myself....to have someone who will love me for the rest of my life...

Then finally umuwi na kami, we've decided na lakarin na lang...ewan ko ba, ang layo ng napuntahan namin and nilakad....sobrang init...we've found na Quirino Station na kami..hahaha....nakakatuwa...Since sobrang init we've decided na dumaan sa Mcdo for Mc Float....well at last, nakainom din kami...as in Summer na talaga....

Well, hofefully magkita pa kami this summer for swimming...para matupad yung dreams namin...
kami na lang nakakaalam nun.... hahhahaha....

4Ps - 7Ps of Marketing Mix

4-Ps of Marketing - Mix The 4-Ps of Marketing
The traditional marketing mix contains of four major elements, the "4-Ps of marketing". As defined by Kotler et al. (1999):
1. Product: "Anything that can be offered to a market for attention, acquisition, use or consumption that might satisfy a want or need. In includes physical objects, services, persons, places, organizations and ideas."
2. Price: "The amount of money charged for a product or service, or the sum of the values that consumers exchange for the benefits of having or using the product or service."
3. Promotion: "Activities that communicate the product or service and its merits to target customers and persuade them to buy."
4. Place: "All the company activities that make the product or service available to target customers."
All of these elements have their specific place in any company's marketing strategy:
The 7-Ps of Services Marketing
In the context of services marketing, Booms and Bitner (1981) have therefore suggested an extended "7-Ps" approach that contains the following additional "Ps":
1. People: All people directly or indirectly involved in the consumption of a service, e.g. employees or other consumers.
2. Process: Procedure, mechanisms and flow of activities by which services are consumed.
3. Physical Evidence: The environment in which the service is delivered. It also includes tangible goods that help to communicate and perform the service.

Why we should go home on time

Mr. Narayana Murthy is undoubtedly one of the most famous persons from Karnataka. He is known not just for building the biggest IT empire in India but also for his simplicity. Almost every important dignitary visits Infosys campus. He delivered an interesting speech during an employee session with another IT company in India . He is incidentally, one of the top 50 Influential people of Asia according to an Asiaweek publication and also the new IT Advisor to the Thailand Prime Minister.

Extract of Mr. Narayana Murthy's Speech during Mentor Session : I know people who work 12 hours a day, six days a week, or more. Some people do so because of a work emergency where the long hours are only temporary.
Other people I know have put in these hours for years. I don't know if they are working all these hours, but I do know they are in the office this long. Others put in long office hours because they are addicted to the workplace.

Whatever the reason for putting in overtime, working long hours over the long term is harmful to the person and to the organization. There are things managers can do to change this for everyone's benefit. Being in the office long hours, over long periods of time, makes way for potential errors. My colleagues who are in the office long hours frequently make mistakes caused by fatigue.

Correcting these mistakes requires their time as well as the time and energy of others. I have seen people work Tuesday through Friday to correct mistakes made after 5 PM on Monday. Another problem is that people who are in the office long hours are not pleasant company. They often complain about other people (who aren't working as hard); they are irritable, or cranky, or even angry. Other people avoid them. Such behavior poses problems, where work goes much better when people work together instead of avoiding one another.

As Managers, there are things we can do to help people leave the office. First and foremost is to set the example and go home ourselves. I work with a manager who chides people for working long hours. His words quickly lose their meaning when he sends these chiding group e-mails with a time-stamp of 2 AM, Sunday.

Second is to encourage people to put some balance in their lives. For instance, here is a guideline I find helpful:
1) Wake up, eat a good breakfast, and go to work.
2) Work hard and smart for eight or nine hours.
3) Go home.
4) Read the books/comics, watch a funny movie, dig in the dirt, play
with your kids, etc.
5) Eat well and sleep well.

This is called recreating. Doing steps 1, 3, 4, and 5 enable step 2. Working regular hours and recreating daily are simple concepts. They are hard for some of us because that requires 'personal change'. They are possible since we all have the power to choose to do them.

In considering the issue of overtime, I am reminded of my oldest son. When he was a toddler, if people were visiting the apartment, he would not fall asleep no matter how long the visit, and no matter what time of day it was. He would fight off sleep until the visitors left.It was as if he was afraid that he would miss something. Once our visitors' left, he would go to sleep. By this time, however, he was over tired and would scream through half the night with nightmares. He, my wife, and I, all paid the price for his fear of missing out. Perhaps some people put in such long hours because they don't want to miss anything when they leave the office. The trouble with this is that events will never stop happening. That is life !! Things happen 24 hours a day. Allowing for little rest is not ultimately practical. So, take a nap. Things will happen while you're asleep, but you will have the energy to catch up when you wake.
Hence...
"LOVE YOUR JOB, BUT NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR COMPANY BECAUSE YOU
NEVER KNOW WHEN THE COMPANY STOPS LOVING YOU" -- Narayana Murthy

A day with Carl

I went to SM Megamall to pay for my HSBC and Banco De Oro Credit Card. At the same time to buy shoes of my pamangkin named Carl, needed for the Grand Ball Night this Friday. (What a lovable Tita….) As expected it’s hard to find a size 9 shoes that will fit for him. He chose another design and finally ok na! Grabeh, ang tagal pumili. Huh…. While we’re at the 2nd floor section, we saw shades for woman. I was thinking that it’s summer, so...... go buy the shades! Hahaha…

Like any High School students, Carl was an avid NBA fan. We tried looking for NBA posters but since I’m running out of my time I’ve decided na next time na lang. Then we go to Dunkin Donuts for pasalubong and accompany him to FX station going to Pateros and I ride also an FX going to Quiapo. While in the FX, there’s a cute guy beside me, as in cute…hahaha….I saw him watching me, I don’t know why? Then suddenly say “para” hay sayang ….bumaba na kaagad. Anyway, atleast nakatabi ko man lang….hahaha…

Finally at 4pm I’m in Excel CEU. That time, there are only 6 customers. Well, no wonder since its vacation break for CEU students. I’ve checked my email then log-in for yahoo messenger not knowing that there’s someone who is very sweet and make me feel comfortable for that moment.

Well, all I can say is “A great day for me”.

Game On - Power Up and Control

Well, it's late to journal the event happend last Saturday(March 18,2006) but it's better late than never..haha.I attended this seminar with Verjo, one of my area supervisors in Manila which sponsored by Intel and MOBIUS. The place is in Marina Restaurant, Boom na boom, Roxas Blvd.

Launching of new Packages of Intel for Gaming and Desktop Publishing enthusiasts as well as updates on Online Gaming (MU and Gunbound) addicts.

The seminar run for 3 hrs. Intel offers their newest HT Technology Processors. HT? sounds new, HT means Hyper-Threading. Wow! Additional knowledge for me. Intel brings hyper-threading technology to all levels desktop PCs.

The Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with HT Technology features an 800 MHz system bus and other exciting platform technologies, such as dual channel DDR2 memory support and PCI Express* architecture, helps deliver a significant boost in overall performance for intensive applications such as video editing, audio processing and gaming.

The other one was Intel Pentium D Processors. Meaning, Intel dual-core processor-based PCs are revolutionizing multimedia entertainment and the way you experience it. How? Dual-core products from Intel like the new Intel® Pentium® D processor featuring two processing cores enable your PC to think as fast as you can multitask. Great! hope i can have this... any sponsors? hahaha....

So if you think that you'll be buying a new one then consider their packages..

After the seminar, we've joined the most exciting game! Paintball shootout game at the Global Gutz Bootcamp field. Wow, i never had this feeling! Thrill and excitement for a combat game. It's free for all those attendees. The groups divided into 8 teams. We are in the 7th team, composed of 3 girls and 3 boys from different Internet Cafes. Sad to say, we've lost. hahahaa... I really had fun! .....Additional knowledge, meeting new people and building teamwork even just for that day.... haaayyyyyyyyy.... looking forward for another event..

My Favorite Song

Alipin
(Shamrock)

Di ko man maamin
Ikaw ay mahalaga sa akin
Di ko man maisip
Sa pagtulog ikaw ang panaginip
Malabo man ang aking pag-iisip
Sana’y pakinggan mo ang sigaw nitong damdamin

Chorus:
Ako’y alipin mo kahit hindi batid
Aaminin ko minsan ako’y manhid
Sana ay iyong naririnig
Sayong yakap ako’y nasasabik
Ayoko sa iba
Sayo ako ay hindi magsasawa
Ano man ang iyong sabihin
Umasa ka ito ay diringgin
Madalas man na parang aso’t pusa
Giliw sa piling mo ako ay masaya

chorus

coda:
Pilit mang abutin ang mga tala
Basta’t sa akin wag kang mawawala
Ako’y alipin mo kahit hindi batid
Aaminin ko minsan ako’y manhid
Sana ay iyong naririnig
Sayong yakap ako’y nasasabik
Pagkat ikaw lang ang nais makatabi
Malamig man o mainit ang gabi
Nais ko sana iparating na ikaw lamang
Ang siyang aking iibigin
